Anticipation

I’m feeling better than I did yesterday. I managed to shower, commute and put in a morning’s worth of work before I decided it was time to go home and rest some more. The sickness that comes after a vaccination is the best kind of sickness. You know you aren’t contagious and that you’ll be back to full capacity in no time. I came home, read some President Taft, and then took a lovely nap. I slept so well I had detailed dreams!

Before I left the office, I set an out of office response in Outlook. I’ll be back on Monday! Tomorrow I leave mid-morning and drive to meet up with my daughter and together we’ll road trip our way to see my sister and her family. My nephew’s university fall break is a long weekend, and we are going to share our short weekend with them.

What I love about road trips is the way time moves differently. We won’t be together long enough and yet, the time we do have together will be filled with laughter and antiquing and probably some bowling, if we’re lucky.

I’m driving a little bit out of my way to meet up with my daughter, but it’s a good place to park our car and more time with my daughter is worth every extra mile.
